Krillion Best Answers and Perfect-Score Strategy

Real 100-point One in a Krillion picks from recorded dives, the tier math behind 700 points, and how to aim high.

A perfect Krillion dive is 700 points: seven answers at 100 each, 7,000 metres of ocean. Almost nobody gets there — the 100-point One in a Krillion answers are hand-picked gems, chosen not just for rarity but for how satisfying they are to land on. But the shape of a great answer is learnable, and the math behind the chase is simple enough to hold in your head.

What real 100-point answers look like

These are genuine One in a Krillion picks recorded from recent Daily Dives:

The pattern: they're all correct, all specific, and most have a story attached. None of them is the second answer everyone thinks of — they're the tenth.

The tier math

| Tier | Points | × 7 prompts | Depth | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | One in a Krillion | 100 | 700 (perfect) | 7,000 m | | Deep Cut | 85 | 595 | 5,950 m | | Rare | 60 | 420 | 4,200 m | | Schooler | 30 | 210 | 2,100 m | | Too Clever | 15 | 105 | 1,050 m | | Plankton | 10 | 70 | 700 m |

Two consequences worth internalizing:

  1. Aim for 85, not 100. Seven Deep Cuts are 595 of 700 — a spectacular dive — and Deep Cuts are findable on purpose, unlike the hand-picked gems.
  2. Zeros are devastating. A prompt left blank scores 0, which costs more than two full tier upgrades. An unglamorous Plankton answer always beats a timeout.

Expected value, honestly

There's no published distribution of player scores, so nobody can tell you a verified "average" dive. What you can compute is your own break-even point. Reaching for a Deep Cut-tier answer scores 85 when it lands and 0 when it doesn't; a safe Schooler is a guaranteed 30. The risky play wins if your hit rate is above 30 ÷ 85 ≈ 35%. Your personal hit rate is a number only your own history can answer — which is exactly what practicing on past dives is for.
